need to include a m4p sound file into a powerpoint file.

Bad news hcv,

If you plan on having the sound play: just don't.

Apple's m4p files have a 'no tolerance' digital rights management encoding
on them and will not play on any other computer but your own. They will
probably not even play on yours. Even if you have the full permission of
the artist, even if you have the right to play it under 'fair use' rules of
the US copyright laws, even if it plays on your system now -- you are best
off not using it in a PowerPoint presentation.

I would suggest tossing the m4p files in your recycle bin and search for the
music (that you have obtained the rights to play) in a different format. I
uninstalled all my iTunes players so I would not run into this very problem.
Apple's iTunes (and for that matter QuickTime) do not play well with
others -- period.
