Link does not automatically update
I have some graphs linked to several excel files.
I have found that if I change the file name of those excel files, I cannot automatically update these graphs. And I have to do change sources for each graphs. I wonder if there is a quicker way to update these links, such as writing some macro coding. -- Thanks a million for your time and expert advice :-) Jaylin *****Jaylin Message ended******* |

The link is little more than a pointer to "The file named XXX stored in C:\Some\Folder\" If you move the file or change the name, the file, as described in the link, no longer exists. I wonder if there is a quicker way to update these links, such as writing some macro coding. If the name changes are consistent, then yes, it's fairly simple. In order for it to work, you must have a copy of the linked file in the folder you're trying to re-link to. If you change the link to point to a file that's not there, PowerPoint just nods, smiles and ignores you.
