Outlook 2000 PST file to 2003! Please help
I have recently had to reinstall my operating system (Win2000) I had
been using Office 2000. With the new install, I put Office 2003 on the machine with Outlook 2003. In the past, I've just had to copy my PST file to the new machine but that didn't work this time. Then I tried to import the old PST file. It didn't recognize it as valid. Obviously, the format has changed. Is there any way to convert that old file to the new 2003 format? Thanks, Lin |

Diane;
I have no idea why but when I tried it again, it worked! Lin Diane Poremsky [MVP] wrote: was the pst on a cd and if so, did you remove the read only flag? The pst format changed, but old psts are backwards compatible. |

Outlook 2000 PST file to 2003! Please help
Diane,
Can you please elaborate a bit on the statement "the pst format changed, but old pdsts are backwards compatible" Does this mean the pst file of Outlook 2003 can be imported into Outlook XP. I am trying to do that, so please help. I have Windows 2000 as OS and recently upgraded from Office XP to Office 2003. I was able to successfully import the PST file into the new version (in fact it did it automatically). But now I want to uninstall Office 2003 and re-install Office XP. But was worried if the older version of Outlook be able to read the pst file from Outlook 2003. ----- Diane Poremsky [MVP] wrote: ----- was the pst on a cd and if so, did you remove the read only flag?
