Default changing background of inserted picture

Ok. I haven't used publisher before, so it is a little
confusing. I have a document that I have changed the
background fill to a color gradient. From "My Pictures"
file onmy computer I have inserted our logo, but of
course, the bacground of the logo is white and I want to
change it to the color gradient so all you see in the logo
with the same color background as the whole document but I
haven't been able to figure out how to do that. I WAS
able to change the background behind text boxes, but they
were not imported from another file. The picture boxes
with the logo in them won't change the white background to
the color gradient I chose for the whole document.

I tried the help options, and tried about everything in
there about "trapping" but I really don't understand what
that means and I read everything there was but it didn't
explain it very well. I don't know whether I have to
change the logo image itself (?) - I would think there is
an easy way to change it in the publisher document.

Try the transparency tool, see attached, it is on the picture toolbar.
