PPT07: White table borders print black
When printing in grayscale or b/w, my white table borders turn black. I used
to be able to select the table in 2003, and convert it to grayscale to keep the white borders, but I cannot do that in 2007. I have taken to PDFing the file before printing in b/w, but this won't always work for my clients. Any way around this? -- bh529 |

But you should avoid printing pure Black & White, all modern printers are capable for Grayscale. I really appreciate your reply Ute. I do print in grayscale, but the table
borders still print black. I have been in the grayscale view, but in 2007 it no longer gives me the option to convert the selected table to grayscale. I am hoping to find a way to keep the white borders white when viewed/printed in grayscale. -- bh529 "Ute Simon" wrote: When printing in grayscale or b/w, my white table borders turn black. When you select a table, the grayscale options dim out and are inaccessible. You might experiment with this: Select the table Press Ctrl+C to copy it On the Home tab, Clipboard group click the downarrow beneath Paste Choose Paste Special and pick EMF or WMF (experiment with both) You'll be able to adjust grayscale settings for the pasted picture. But the picture will no longer be a table; keep a copy of the original table around in case you later need to edit it. ----------------------------------------- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ |

Thanks so much. I will do that before sending off to a client.

PPT07: White table borders print black
So, um ... since this is a serious design flaw that many people are upset
with, it would be ubercool to be able to ask Microsoft to please *fix it -- and sooner rather than later!* I know the knowledge experts who respond here are volunteers, so I'm not mad ... just frustrated. How can I reach the "powers that be" at Microsoft to ask them to give this some attention? "Steve Rindsberg" wrote: In article , Bh529 wrote: I really appreciate your reply Ute. Trust me, I've b!tched about it enough that they are indeed aware of this
issue. I am not holding my breath for a fix, though. I will definitely forward your plea along, too. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx Don't Miss the PPTLive User Conference! Great, another eggheader posting about something over a year old where the OP is probably long gone. 09-Jul-08 |
