Default Outlook 2007 won't work with Hotmail

After deleting my Hotmail data file from Outlook to reinstall the Hotmail
account, Outlook is not able to connect to Hotmail anymore getting stuck at
asking again and again my password. What I noticed is that the password box
has a SPACE at the beginning of it that I can not delete. Even If I do it
manualy, (there is no space in the password box in this case) the ID and
Password box comes up asking me the password again. Outlook express gives the
same error. Windows Life Mail though works fine with Hotmail. I tried
reinstalling the Office with no success. What can it be wrong on my PC?

Thank you,
Mike

Do you have the latest connector installed?

OK. I install it but nothing happened. Still my Outlook 2007 is not working
with Hotmail.
Is just my suspicion that there is a registry key controlling the way
Outlook and OutlookExpress connects and get mail from Hotmail, and i may need
to reset that key (if is that simple).
Let me mention again that Outlook 2007 and OutlookExpress on my computer
does not work with Hotmail but Windows Live mail does.

Any other suggestion?

Thank you,
Mike

Odd, have you tried creating a new Outlook mail profile (don't copy the old
outlook mail profile) via the mail applet in the control panel? If this
fails, I would ask if you could try a new operating system user id. The
reason why is that we need to determine if the problem is as you say a
registry problem, but is it specific to your userid or is it system wide.

Default Outlook 2007 won't work with Hotmail

If I create and switch to another user ID:
Nothing works in Ooutlook anymore. No POP3 or HTTP account. I got the
following error when I try to access Hotmail account: "The set of folders can
not be open. The information store could not be open". I got the following
error when i try to open an pop account: "The set of folders can not be open.
The file C:\ Document and settings\.....\Outlook\mike.ost is not an offline
folder file".

Another odd thing is that in my Data files I got two accounts: pop and
Hotmail. If i try to remove Hotmail is telling me that I have to use E-mail
tab, but in E-mail tab there is no account set with Hotmail. If I press
"Settings" and try to reset the password, it would not recognize my old
password although i know is good cause it is working on-line..

Any other thought?
Thank you,
Mike

Odd, an .OST implies that you are working an exchange account. You did
create everything by hand under the new account and not use any utilities to
try and import settings from the old userid, right?
