Default all-day events show on 2 days

I recently upgraded to XP and Office 2003. My previously functioning all-day events now display over 2 days. I'm having to go back an reset them so that they don't go up to midnight, thus the 2-day display. Is this a defect in the updated version or is there some kind of obscure setting to change? It seems that all day should automatically be just one day.

Check your clock and daylight savings time settings under both Outlook
Tools-Options-Calendar button and Windows Control Panel-Time.

I set it to adjust for daylight savings time, reset the clock, and set a new all-day event. It still showed up on two days in my calendar. Is there anything else I can try?
