I need help to set up a table to calculate a payback period of an investment
of $1.0 Million. what are the parameters and assumptions I need to consider

Working on homework?

You need to know the dates and amounts of cash outflows (investments) and
inflows (returns). Beyond that, you'll need to know what your investment
hurdle rate is. You can get a whole lot more complicated, but that should
get you started
