How to install Office XP Pro in Vista?
I can't get my XP Pro Office disc to install into a new Acer desktoop running
Vista Home. I get through the installation menus, but at the final screen the disc does not transfer files to the pc. The installation screen just sits there. The cd is running for a while, then the light goes out. I am also having problems loading Publisher 98 and Office 97. Publisher gets to the same point as XP where the installation is supposed to start, but I get the message "program not responding" and no files are transferred. Office 97 has loaded some files, but there are missing files that won't let the programs operate correctly. Is there a secret I am missing for loading programs into Vista? |

How to install Office XP Pro in Vista?
You will have problems trying to run 98 or 97 versions on Vista, uninstall
them if you can. Is there a trial version of Office installed? Is the OfficeXp Pro a retail edition? There is no secret to installing apps on Vista, you simply pop the cd in, it should auto run, you may get a Vista msg 'do you want to run' or similar "Rick" wrote in message news I can't get my XP Pro Office disc to install into a new Acer desktoop running Vista Home.
