Printing Excel Colmns& Rows / Left To Right 1st across, then nxt l
Using Excel, I created an A to Z list of Authors I have read with their
books (Authors ~ Column A/ Books ~ Column B) I was printing with no difficulty the complete lists (Author #1 w/ Books next to name, then Author #2 w/ Books and so on..) . A family member came in and said that the authors/books could be put in alpha order (either ascending or descending - both authors and their books), not that I really needed that. I was told to go to DATA and use that to do the job, which I tried, but it did not do what was mentioned it would do. Everything looked the same, but I know I did click on some different things under DATA. Today when I went to print the lists of the next letters "O" & "P", I got one complete list of the authors (as they should have looked,) then the names of the respective books that belonged to them. Not one complete list of author with book(s) but two seperate lists, authors then book(s). Please help me to undo what I did last Saturday. I am about to lose it as I tried to simply open a new Excel Document and make another "O" & "P" (which would be very tiring and unpleasant but necessary) but when I wrote up a sample Document with authors and books, the same thing happened... so I know the Tool Bar settings must be changed somewhere, but I don't know where or how to change them ( I tried, but am confused) and I do NOT want to ask this family member again for advice. How can I get the computer to recognize when printing my documents that 1st it should Print what's in line #1,Column A, then Line #1 Column B, then go to Line #2 Column A (print if there is something there), then go to Line #2 Column B, and Print that information etc.....? What do I do to reverse the things that got changed when I clicked on the Tool Bar? Especially when I am not sure what was changed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You ... Hank M. |

Look at the File -- Page Setup dialogs and on the [Sheet] tab in that
dialog. There is a setting for "Page order" that says to either print Down (top to bottom, then over and down) or Over (left to right, then down) I'm betting you changed that setting.
