Copying Mail Rules to a new identity
Working off of xp pro platform, I recently created a new identity owing to a
corruption issue in one of my previous identity's folders. Except for my Mail Rules (of which I have about 300), all messages, address book, and newsgroup rules were copied over successfully to my new identity. Grateful if someone could advise how to copy my Mail Rules from my previous identity to my new one. Thanks! JDW __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4120 (20090601) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |

so, JD.) J.D. Wall wrote: There's got to be a less CONVOLUTED method to bkup & restore mail rules . . . ! "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... 300? You've got a little work ahead of you. Copying Mail Rules to a new identity
If you *clone* an identity, just about everything is restored intact,
including your rules. You can do this using these instructions: Backing up and Cloning your OE Identities: http://www.insideoe.com/backup/clone.htm Or using this backup program and restoring the backup folder you create when installing it: This freeware tool backs up everything in OE in seconds. Disregard what is written in red. That is referring to a different program. Outlook Express Quick Backup (OEQB): http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx The only problem is, if you put the exact same identity back, you are likely to be putting the same corruption back. If you still have access to your old identity, give it a shot. But if you end up where you were, then my first reply is your only option. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail] Imperial Beach, CA "J.D.
