Default Saving in new file format

Hi,

I just upgraded from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007. When I saved an Excel
document written with Excel 2003, I got the following Compatibility Checker
message: "The following features in this workbook are not supported by
earlier versions of Excel...To keepo all of your features, click Cancel, and
then save the file in one of the new file formats."

Question: What new file format do I use and how do I change the current file
format to the new one?

Thank you.

When you click on the office button there should also be an icon that is
named Convert, that is the one you use when converting a 97-2003 file to a
2007 file.

For the OP

For a few files you can open the 97-2003 file in Excel 2007 and use Convert or SaveAs
on the Office Button menu to make it a 2007 file. The only differents between the two ways
as far as I know are that if you use SaveAs you keep the 97-2003 file and with Convert not.
Remember that if there is code in your 97-2003 file you must SaveAs xlsm file and not as xlsx.

If you want to convert a lot of files check out the information in Debra Dalgleish blog
