I certainly understand. It did seem an odd way to go. What seems odd to me is that an experienced Access developer like you would simply give a solution without addressing the "apparent oddity" of the desired solution, and suggesting, as Jeff has done, that if the poster would explain what he has and what he is trying to accomplish, someone might be able to suggest a simpler or more effective solution.
