Default Linking information within a document

I have a document that references a number on page 1. I
would like to some how make this number appear on all
following pages within the footer to tie all the pages
together. ANY IDEAS???

I'd use a docproperty for the number, and insert it as a field on page 1
and in the footer (or: in all footers of all sections).

Another road: You could also just work with a paragraph of a unique
style on page 1 where you put the number into, and then reference it via
a STYLEREF field.

Why not just bookmark it and use a REF field?

Depending on the circumstances, I might still prefer the docproperty,
beceause it doesn't get so easily overwritten unwillingly.
