Need upgrade help with Office 2003 to 2007
I presently have Office 2003 Standard Edition and would like to upgrade to
Office 2007 Ultimate. I am running XP Pro SP3. What is the best way of doing this without losing all my current data? Also, can I pick the programs I want to upgrade to or do I need to install the whole 2007 program? Thank you, Bob |

Need upgrade help with Office 2003 to 2007
Niether upgrading or uninstalling has any effect on data, but a backup of
said data is allways wise. You can select the 2007 components to be installed, but that might impact on the actual intergration / usability of the components, which rather negates installing 2007 at all. What did you want left of 2003 and why? "Bob Scalcione" wrote in message ... I presently have Office 2003 Standard Edition and would like to upgrade to Office 2007 Ultimate. I am running XP Pro SP3. Need upgrade help with Office 2003 to 2007
Thank you DL
I didn't want to leave any of 2003 but did not want to install a few of the programs that come with 2007 which I would not use. My major concern (like everyone else) is to not lose any data from my Outlook. I do understand about backing up the .pst file and will do so. There does seem to be some misunderstanding as to if you need to remove Outlook 2003 before installation or if the 2007 will do this for you. Thanks for your help. Need upgrade help with Office 2003 to 2007
If you upgrade it will remove earlier version components and replace them
with 2007 ones. That been said it does no harm to uninstall 2003, reboot, then install 2007, custom install, selecting the components you want to run from PC If your version of 2007 is an upgrade version, then you will need the 2003 cd to point to during the installation process "Bob Scalcione" wrote in message ... If the new product is an Upgrade Version, it should not be necessary to uninstall the previous version before upgrading. If the new product is not an upgrade version, then it is wise, if not required, to uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. |
