Default My Online Status availability

I would like to let my address book know when I'm away from home. When I go
to "My Online Status" it is greyed out. I don't know how to fix this. Any
suggestions? Thanks

For instant messaging? F1 | Contents and Index | Index Tab. Type - Online
Status.

Thank you for your response, however, I meant to say that this question
refers to Outlook Express.

Then I don't know what you mean by:

qp
I would like to let my address book know when I'm away from home.
/qp

Are you looking for an auto-reply to received e-mails letting people know
you are away?

If you do this, you will have to leave your computer on 24/7, be connected
to the Internet, and have OE open. If you want do this anyway, the link
below will explain how to do it. One thing I would suggest is that where it
says to create a rule and check For All Messages, you change it and make the
rule for people in your address book only. Otherwise you will be replying to
Spam as well.

Your ISP may offer this service which would be a better choice.

My online status only has meaning for your instant messaging program. The
option is there in OE only as a convenience for setting Windows Messenger of
MSN Messenger without actually going to them.
