Default Watch/Ignore Column

Hi! 5 June

When one marks a column for Watching when the Watch/Ignore column is not in
the view, OE asks if the column should now displayed (Yes/No), and a check
box for "Do not show this message again".
On ticking the check box, the message should not re-appear.
But I do not find any way of reversing the situation to status quo. Can
anyone advise? I am not comfortable with irreversible situations.

Navigate to this key:

Start | Run and type in:

regedit

OK | HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Identities | GUID (Long series of letters &
numbers) | Software | Microsoft | Outlook Express | 5.0 | Don't Show
Dialogs.

Find the correct one in the right hand pane and delete it, or change the
value to 0, (zero).

Thanks.

I did find the key, but since there is no option in OE for referting the
status, I was not sure if it would be right to change the key value. BTW, it
is oe6

The value 0 = Enabled. 1 or higher = Disabled. The reason you can also
delete the key is because it didn't exist until you chose Do Not Show Me
This Again. That is when the key was created.

In OE, click View; Columns; That will enable you to turn the display
of that column back on. It's a toggle; you can turn it off or on from
that menu. At that same place, you can also re-arrange the order of the
columns to your own personal preference and a couple other things too.
Quite handy, really.

Some here always like to jump to reg edits for everything, but most of
the time although that solves just that one problem, it leaves out all
the other capabilities that come from using the menu ways to do things.
And it's a lot cleaner/simpler to use the program's abilities.

HTH,

Twayne`

See my earlier response for where the toggle is, amongst other things.
