Default Presenter's View problem

I am using two HP media computers running Vista SP2 and PowerPoint 2007. On
one of the computers I am not seeing the current slide image in the preview
pane on the upper left of the presenter's screen. All other elements work as
they should. The same file(s) behave properly in Presenter's View on the
other HP computer. Is there something not turned on on the one machine to
cause this?
