Trouble with address in Publisher mail-merge
I am sure there is an extremely simple answer to my problem - but I have
wasted HOURS! I am using Publisher 2003 to produce postcards for a mass mailing. In the mail merge I used the option of "Block Address" Unfortunately, the address does not format itself correctly - one long line "first name, lastname, address 1,city..." The program does not let me put in the necessary spaces and line breaks. Neither will it let me erase the "Block address" and replace with individual Name, Street choices. I even redesigned my postcard, changed its name, changed name of mail list, but the "Address Block keeps returning as a default. HELP! |

Trouble with address in Publisher mail-merge
Are you using a pre-designed template? I don't know why you cannot delete the
text box. When you preview in step 4 is not the address block correct? You shouldn't have to do anything about spaces and line breaks. What are you using as a database? Have you tried creating a text box in Step 3; using the drop down for your information. You can space between, for example, first and last name, press enter, add the address, enter again add the state and so on. Trouble with address in Publisher mail-merge
Thank you for your quick reply! After reading your response, I went back
over the steps again (for the 50th time!). My mailing list is in Excel, so I had assumed it would be a "tab" delimiter - turns out it is actually a comma delimter. That solved the problem. Again, thanks. "Mary Sauer" wrote: Are you using a pre-designed template? I don't know why you cannot delete the text box. When you preview in step 4 is not the address block correct?
