Access 97/Jet database engine problem

I keep getting the following msg when I try and do a search on a memo field for a partial match: "The Msoft Jet dbase engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time". I am using a stand alone system and can't figure out why I get this msg or how to correct the problem. I also get the same message when I try to copy and paste the table containing the memo field. I can copy other tables in the database with no problem Corruption. You'll need to locate the, hopefully one record, with the corrupt memo field. See the Damaged records within tables section in the To retrieve your data from a Corrupt Microsoft Access MDB page at my website http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corr...uptrecords.htm Tony -- Tony Toews, Microsoft Access MVP Please respond only in the newsgroups so that others can read the entire thread of messages.
