Default Web page file name output

My client has a 100 page publisher document and I am trying to convert that
to Web pages. It works BUT, the out put files file names that don't make
sense.
I end up with Page1152.htm, Page1351.htm, Page1390.htm and not page 1, 2, 3
etc that I would expect. I can't see any rhyme or reason to the page numbers
that it outputs. I would have thought that it would use the emended page
numbers within the document.

Is there a way to make the Web output the pages Page1.htm, Page2.htm etc?

The bad new is that is the way both Publisher 2003 and 2007 work by design
and default....and yes, the arbitrary numbers are a pain. Publisher hasn't
named the pages the way you would prefer since Pub 2000. The good news is
that you can give each page a custom file name.

When you 'Publish to the web' you should use the default of 'index.htm' for
the home page, or the first page of your publication. However, you can give
custom names to all the other pages. Go to the second page of your
publication go to Tools Web page options. In that dialog you can choose a
custom 'file name'. This can be 'Page2.htm' or something more descriptive if
you prefer such as 'Contact.htm' , 'AboutUs.htm', etc. Do not use any
special characters or spaces in the file names, and you might want to use
only lower case. Just be consistent. And no, there is no way to custom name
all the pages...you will have to work through your publication one page at a
time. Note it is in this dialog that you also add the SEO information, so
you can do that at the same time as you custom name the pages.

If you have a follow up question or other questions about Publisher webs,
then please post in the web group and we will try to help you the
