Default Multiple text blocks in a shape

I'm looking to add multiple text boxes in a shape using MS Visio 2002.

I'd also like to add control handles to them, as well as attach Custom
Properties. Grouping separate texts with a shape does not work.

For example, most objects in the 'Basic Flowchart Shapes' stencil have 3
Custom Properties (displayed in the 'Custom Properties Window' from the View
menu or in the 'Show ShapeSheet' from the Window menu): Cost, Duration &
Resources.

I'd like to create 3 separate text boxes for each of them, link those Custom
Properties to them and add control handles to manipulate their position on
the shape (top: Cost, Middle: Duration, Bottom: Resources).

If you know how to do that, please send me an email to

Thanks,
Carlos

I do that by groupping:

1. Add rectangles on top of your shape and place them so that they
correspond to the places you want to see your text in.
2. Group all these shapes into one group
3. Insert a text field into each of the subshapes and reference whatever
custom field of the group shape you want to show in the subshape. Use shape
ID in the reference.
4. Set behavior as "select group only"

Good Luck.

Thanks VitalyZ,

I'm struggling to understand your point 3. I broke it down in these steps:

a) Insert a text field into each of the subshapes.
I'm just clicking on each subshape and typing text, is that what you mean?

b) Reference whatever custom field of the group shape you want to show in
the subshape
I guess the main question here is: How do I reference it? Could you please
give me more details?

c) Use shape ID in the reference.
Once I know how to reference it, where do I obtain the ID from?

Thanks,
Carlos
