Install New Full Office Professional Edition 2003 over New HP Pavillion that has trial version of Office 2003 on it

My friend has purchased a new HP Pavillion computer with trial=
version of Office 2003 on it=2E I am not sure if it is Home or Pro=
version, but he wants to Uninstall the trial version and install=
the full version on this computer=2E I have heard horror stories=
about uninstalling office=2E Are they true? How should I proceed?=
