Office 2003 OLA vs. Office 2003 personal copy
When I was a member of a network LAN, my administrator
installed Micorsoft 2003--an Open License Agreement version. I have recently moved and have purchased my own personal copy of Micorsoft 2003 since I cannot update it with the original CD. Do I need to unistall the OLA version of Office 2003 and then install my personal copy? I would like just to simply install my copy over the one that is already on the computer. That way I would preserve my settings and the personal information contained in my contacts, distribution lists, etc. What should I do? Thanks! |

Joe,
Make a backup of your .pst file before anything. Your version that you purchased will not install over the OLA copy. Likely that you'll have to completely remove the original install with this tool: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301 before you can load your copy. Chris,
Do I first go to the control panel and use the remove/add program feature to remove Office 2003 and then run the Uninstall Cleanup Utility or do I simply use the Unistall cleanup utility without using the Add/Remove feature? Thanks, Joe P.S. I have the .pst file in a separate folder on the hard drive. Is that okay or should I move it to a jump drive? -----Original Message----- Joe, Make a backup of your .pst file before anything. Your version that you purchased will not install over the OLA copy.
