exporting email account settings in Outlook 2002
Hello all,
I'm using Outlook 2002 (OfficeXP SBE) and I got a little puzzle - no matter how I search in help, I can't find the way to export mail server(s) settings, so I could import them later - I need to reinstall the PC, and don't want to enter all the info again. I know that Outlook Express allows export of account setting, but how about Outlook2002? I see that I can import server settings through Import/Export, but don't see any obvious way to export them. Or it can be done through .pst file maybe? Could anyone advice please? Thx Dave |

Outlook does not support exporting account information except in Outlook

Due to the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. So there is no export for account info? ... well, I admit that is disappointing, but at least I won't keep looking for something what is not there. I wonder why this feature is left out from otherwise sophisticated piece of software; maybe for security reasons... Thx anyway! Regards Dave |

(Alan Sun [MSFT]) wrote in message ... Hello Dave, Thanks for your posting here. Unfortunately, the export/import feature doesn't support in Outlook 2002/2003. Outlook 2002 ends the distinction between Corporate/Workgroup mode and Internet Mail Only mode that was present in Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000. The ability to export Internet mail account settings to an .iaf file as you can in IMO mode and Outlook Express disappears, as it is an IMO-only feature. This behavior is by design. Your understanding is appreciatd. I have performed research, and unable to find any workaroud or tools to export account settings. Have a nice day!
