Office 2003 installs and registration

Hi
I have 3 legit and authentic MS Office discs:
1) XP Professional 2002
2) Upgrade Standard Edition 2003
3) Office 2003 Standard Edition, original without any SPs

I have 2 pcs and have installed the original version (3) on one of them and
installed discs 1 and 2 on the other. But I cannot recall which pc and that
is my problem.

My latest pc has had to go back to the OEM and may require a re-install of
Win7 which will trash Office at the same time.

My concerns are twofold:
1) Disc 1 is now old and has been re-installed a few times together with
disc 2. I know that because my operating system, XP Home, has been
re-installed above a certain number of times then I am obliged to telephone
MS to get the re-install registered properly - but does that process apply
also to Office re-installs?

2) The disc Product keys do not outwardly equate to the the Excel ID keys so
is it possible to tell which Office version has been installed on a pc?
Looking through the pc at home MS Update history doesn't reveal anything
useful and looking in the registry then:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Off ice\11.0\Registration\
shows:
“ProductName� and “ProductNameBrand� = “Microsoft Office Standard
Edition 2003�
“ProductNameNonQualified� = “Microsoft Office 2003�

I would be grateful of any advice.

You can use this software and it will give you the product keys of ALL
Microsoft products installed:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey.zip

Download the zip file, unzip it on your HD and just run the executable file.
You don't need to install it. Always avoid tools that requires you to
install them because they are virtually impossible to remove afterwards.

Do you know anything about my other query (1) concerning multiple
re-installs on Office and activation? Does Office reach a re-install stage
where you have to telephone MS?

Generally you were allowed install of Office on two systems simultaneously
as per EULA without telephoning anybody:

You can continue installing the same software every 121st day because after
120 days, M$ database entry is wiped clean so there is no record of that
particular license. It is worth remembering this.

So if you have installed the software months ago then you should be OK but
always remember the 120 days time lag. The EULA extract is as follows:

1. GRANT OF LICENSE. Microsoft grants you the following rights provided
that you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or other
device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.

If you reinstall on the same hardware it shouldn't be a problem. It is
supposed to work that way, anyway. It is typically when you upgrade a
motherboard or hard disk or change computers, that you have to call.
Calling does take a little time but it is a relatively painless process.
