I can download my email from the server but I cannot send
using Outlook Express. It tells me that it cannot find server. My server tells me it is an outlook express issue but it also occurs with Mozilla. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

And what does you ISP say when you contacted them? You really need to check
your settings in Tools/Accounts/Mail tab for the mail account involved with your ISP. -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. "cgraham" wrote in message ... I'm having the same problem all of a sudden. I have 4 pop accounts and only
one of them will send mail. I went as far as re-installing windows, and with a clean install and no virus scanning prog installed I still have the problem its driving me nuts. Hi Kodiak,
Are all the accounts provided by your ISP? Do they all use your ISP's SMTP (Outgoing) server for sending? -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MVP - (IE/OE) Lynnwood, WA * "Kodiak41226" wrote in message ... The one that is working is provided by my ISP, but the others are provided
by my workplace and the local university, and the other strange thing is that they will work fine from work, but from home I can use any of my three computers and all but the one mail account errors out when I try and send mail. I talked to my ISP and they think I'm crazy for saying that they may have something to do with the problem. They insist that I have the authentication setup wrong, and I can't seem to convince them that they are stupid, because three mail accounts issues by seperate organizations will not fail all at once on three different PC's. The only common denominator that I see is my cable modem. I even took out my Netgear RT314 and connected one PC directly to my cable modem to see if my router had something to do with it; nope. Here is the error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'UT', Server: 'mail.utoledo.edu', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E I searched the Microsoft knowledge base and all the suggestions seem to point towards an anti-virus scanner causing the problem, but I haven't installed Norton just in case that was doing it. Thanks for the reply... "Kuay Tim" wrote in message ... Hi Kodiak, Are all the accounts provided by your ISP? Hi Kodiak,
Your ISP may now be blocking access to other (Port 25) SMTP servers to control a very high volume of mail handling or to control abuse by spammers. You should be able to use your ISP's SMTP server for the other accounts. The reply to address could be your work or school account. The only drawback would be your ISP mail address would be in the message properties. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MVP - (IE/OE) Lynnwood, WA * "Kodiak41226" wrote in message .. . That worked, thanks. I should have thought of that myself, but I guess I was
set on making it work the way it was supposed to. Man this really upsets me that my ISP is dogging me like this. Thanks very much. "Kuay Tim" wrote in message ...
