Default office 2000 remove tools

I have recently removed office 2000 premium from my
system and installed office 2003. I am getting some
strange system performance issues and think I may still
have some leftover file and registry entries from office
2k. The office 2k removal tools indicate they are valid
for Windows 2000... does anyone know/have experience
using them in Windows XP pro? (I have not found any KB
articles that address Win XP and Office 2k removal)

Office 2000 File and Registry Eraser Utility
A utility that automates this process is also available. The Office 2000
File and Registry Eraser Utility is designed to be run only after you run
the Setup program for Office 2000 and click Remove Office. This utility
also removes all of the remaining registry entries that are installed by
Office.

For additional information and download instructions about Eraser 2000,
click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base:
239938 OFF2000: Utility to Completely Remove Remaining Office 2000 CD1
Files and Registry Entries

Note The Office 2000 File and Registry Eraser Utility is not recommended
for use on Windows 2000 Terminal Server.
MORE INFORMATION
Note After you complete the following steps, you may have to reinstall
earlier versions of programs that use the shared components that Microsoft
Office uses. For example, to use any of the programs included with
Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 or Microsoft Publisher, you may need to
reinstall these programs before you can use them again.

To remove Microsoft Office from your computer, follow these steps:
On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

In the list of installed programs, click Microsoft Office 2000, and then
click Remove. If you installed Microsoft Office from a CD-ROM, you are
prompted to insert CD1.
If you are prompted to restart the computer after Setup is completed,
restart the computer.
Using Windows Explorer, delete the following folders and their subfolders.

Note Before you delete the Microsoft Office folder, make sure that you do
not have other programs, such as Microsoft Project or Microsoft Publisher,
installed in the Microsoft Office folder. If you delete the Microsoft
Office folder, you may need to reinstall these programs.

Note Deleting the Microsoft Office folder also deletes the Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart folder, which may contain personal
files. Ensure that all personal files are removed from this folder before
you delete it. Also, deleting the Microsoft Office folder deletes the
Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates folder, which may contain personal
templates. Ensure that all personal files, including custom macros, are
removed from this folder before you delete it.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

Using Windows Explorer, delete the files in the following folders.
