Default Outlook 2007 Crashes on start with Personal Folders (PST)

In my case, it is any pst. I have archive files from 1997 until 2005. One
file for each yera. Size from 400K to 4GB.
It does the same if I just try to archive the current data.

Still need the information I asked for. How did you create and transport
this PST file? How are you adding it to the profile? Have you checked it for
errors?

Thanks for your response Russ.
I tried adding a new profile. But still, when I add a PST to the new
profile, Outlook immediately crashes on startup. The only error
information I
can glean is from the Send Error Information dialog, and this is all I can
copy/paste:
-Error Signature--------
AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 12.0.4518.1014 AppStamp:4542840f
ModName: ocmspst.dll ModVer: 9.0.5.5050 ModStamp:43e3ee52
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00004796
---------------------------
None of the new event logs contains any details of the crash.
Thank you,
Bob

If you attempted an in place upgrade, you should create a new profile
from
scratch.

Hey there. I just upgraded to Outlook 2007 from 2003. I have several
PST
files for archiving, etc. If I try to launch OL2007 with a PST in my
Data
Files, OL crashes. I have disabled all add-ins, and removed all PST
files.
Then OL launches ok. If I add back just one PST (even a newly created
one
in
OL2007 with nothing added to it) OL crashes at launch as before. Any
ideas? I
really need to be able to use my PST files.

Hey Brian... I meant to reply yesterday, but I forgot. Thanks for those PGP
links. They led to the solution. I disabled the PGPServ service, and sure
enough, I can use my Personal Folders without crashing. Thank you for your
help.

Are you using a PGP proxy between Outlook and your mail server or PGP
Desktop?

See Brian Tillman's post below. It was PGP Desktop. Disabling the service
(PGPServ) solved the crash with PST files. Thanks for your help Russ.

In that case, there is more to your story than you have posted. Such issues
do not exist with a clean install of Oulook 2007 with no add-ins.

Hi Russ... even a new PST, e.g., File New Outlook Data File, causes
the
crash.
Thanks,
Bob
