I am waiting for word back from the developers of the PDF library on
an
issue. Their metafile import functionality does not seem very happy
with
the Metafiles generated by the Snapshot format. If this issue gets
resolved, and it should, then I will be able to post a solution in a
very short time.

Stephen's aware of what's coming in Office 12.

His solution will still be required for some time, though. Office 12
probably won't be released for another year, and it'll be some time before
everyone converts to it (Hey, there are still people using Access 2.0!)

Default Report to PDF without PDF or EPS Printer

Hi Stephen,
great that you really made it!

Here are the results of my first Tests:

A2003:
Doesn't work at all :-(
The error-message is of course in German because I'm using a German Access.
"Das Format, in dem Sie das aktuelle Objekt auszugeben versuchen, ist nicht
verfügbar"
The Title of the MsgBox: ReportToPDF:2282

A2002:
Can't open with A2002!
Open and Run with A2003:
The same behavior as above

A2000:
Error-Message: "Sorry...Page Size not supported. Please select a different
Report to Export"
Title: fCreateSnap.fParseSnap:-2147220958

I think the reason is my German Access or/and my German Windows?
Or is the reason the German papersize?

Default Report to PDF without PDF or EPS Printer

It's a known bug. It happens when a report is formatted improperly so that
a single report page will not fit on one output page. Usually it's simply
the margin settings are too large for the current printer. I'll bet you are
either working with a a non US page size or your current printer is an Ink
Jet and the bottom margin is greater than the .5 inch setting on the sample
reports.
Open any of the sample Reports in design view, modify the paper size or
Margins to allow the report to fit onto your current page setup. Try the
conversion process again and it will work properly. I just found the OLE
Structured Storage
information required to fix this issue. I will add logic to remove this
error in the next release.

I have posted A2K and A2K2 versions on my Web site last night.

Because I thought that the problem is the papersize, i have changed the
papersize of my default printer to US page size, but it didn' work.

I can't open the Reports in design view, because your downloads are MDE.

I have tested the output with my own MDB and my own report. The error is the
same :-(.

I have the new logic/code in testing now Deiter. It will remove the error

I have tested the 2003 Version 1.8:

same error as befo
"Das Format, in dem Sie das aktuelle Objekt auszugeben versuchen, ist nicht
verfügbar"
The Title of the MsgBox: ReportToPDF:2282

Testet with my own MDB and a report in german Papersize (A4)

Dieter can you help me isolate the problem.
Would you please export a Report to Snapshot file format and then Email me
the Snapshot.

What happens when you use the MDE by itself and try to convert the sample
reports contained within the MDE?

My Email is:
