when i created this in design view i did not type 1024 characters. what is
going on?

Hi Dawn,

you can cut the number of characters down by using Aliases
for your source table and query names.

ie:

FROM qryASPOrderTracker AS Q
LEFT JOIN (((dbo_CUSTOMER AS C
RIGHT JOIN dbo_CUSTOMER_ORDER AS CO
ON C.ID = CO.CUSTOMER_ID)
LEFT JOIN dbo_CUST_ORDER_LINE AS CL
ON CO.ID = CL.CUST_ORDER_ID)
LEFT JOIN dbo_CUST_ORDER_BINARY AS CB
ON CO.ID = CB.CUST_ORDER_ID)
ON Q.VisualOrderName = CO.SALESREP_ID

each field reference will also use the short alias instead
of the long tablename

when you are in the design view of the query, you can set
the alias in the Properties window for each fieldlist and
Access will automatically change the SQL

when i created this in design view i did not type 1024 characters. what is
going on?
