Default Assigning value to a yes/no button.

I am trying to develop a form with twenty course titles from tblCourses
listed and a check box for each course. I also want each course title to have
a button to indicate its status, A= active, P= possible. These courses are
assingned to a high school from a combo box bound to tblSchools. How do I
bind a field value, course title, to the check box?

I built a form that has each these fields in a combo box, but I would rather
click the school name once and then click on the associated courses and
buttons on one page. As is I have to re-click the school name for each course
and some schools have many of the courses so it becomes cumbersome. Also, how
should I set up the two status possibilities, active and possible?

Thank you

Just a thought

You could have a main form with the combo to select the school and a subform
with some toggle groups with 2 buttons - active and possible.

You could assign the values (active or possible) to the field very simply then

Hope this helps

Wayne,

Thanks for responding! How do I then go about taking the twenty courses from
tblCourses and assign a button or check box to each course on the form? How
do I make sure the active/possible buttons are tied to that course on the
tblSchoolCourses where the school names, courses, and active/possible status
are located? I want to click a button beside the course name and have it
place the course into the SchoolCourses table and then click active/possible
and enter and A or a P in the same table.

According to Access "help", I should be able to click the Field List after
selecting the button I want and drag it to the form. The CourseID field comes
up in a table field box , but I don't know how to then select a specific
course from the CourseID field once I have placed it on the form. Maybe then
I might be able to assign a default value to the button for each course and
tie the A/P button to it somehow.

Merry Christmas Wayne!
