Is there a way to have text blocks on master pages, show up on publication
pages without having to re-draw a text block? |

Text will only write to text boxes. If the text box outlines are the problem you
can turn them off. View, boundaries and guides. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Gaia Graphics" Gaia wrote in message ... I understand that, thank you. What I need to know is:
• if I create a master page and the master page includes a text block, is there a way to have that text block show up on the publication page? • Or, is everything on the master page not editable on the publication page? • Is there a way to make it editable without having to redraw a text block on the publication page? No. The whole point of the Master Page is to create a background that appears behind the main publication page and is common (with the exception of page numbers) to all pages in a group. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://ed.mvps.org |

Master pages are not editable when viewing publication pages.
If a master page is applied to a page, then its objects will show up on the page. You can edit a master page by clicking Master Page from the View menu, but any changes will show up on all pages the master page is applied to. When I have a text box or other shape that I want on many pages (perhaps with small changes from page to page), I put a copy of the text box or shape into the gray "scratch" area so that it is available as I move from page to page. -- Computing should be about insight, not numbers or flash.
