Default Can't send Email with Outlook or OE (2000)

Win xp sp2 home edition ; MS Office 2000; MS Outlook Express 2000; SBC Yahoo
DSL connection to Internet

I am having a problem sending Email with Outlook Express 2000 and Outlook
2000. I recently upgraded my Anti Virus (from McAfee 7.03 to McAfee 9), and
upgraded Winxp to sp2. I'm not sure when the problem started because I use
SBC Yahoo internet mail as my default mail handler.

When I try to send a message using Outlook, I get the following error msg:
The server could not be found. (Account: 'pop.swbell.yahoo.com',SMTP Server:
'smpt.swbell.yahoo.com', Error Number:0x800ccc0d). When I look at the tab
"Tasks" on the error message, it shows Sending mail=failed & Receiving
mail=Completed.
It receives mail ok.

When I try to send a message using Outlook Express 2000, I get the following
error message: The host 'smpt.swbell.yahoo.com' could not be found. Please
verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account:
'pop.swbell.yahoo.com', Server: 'smpt.swbell.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11004, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
It receives mail ok.

My Outlook settings are as follows:
Servers=POP3; incoming mail(POP3)=pop.swbell.yahoo.com; Outgoing
Mail(SMTP)=smpt.swbell.yahoo.com; Acct
; My server requires authentication= box checked
Advanced: Outgoing mail(SMTP)=25 server reqs a secure conn. = not checked
Incoming mail(POP3)= 110 server reqs a secure conn. = not checked Server
timeouts = slider almost to short
I have tried this with Firewall and Antivirus enabled and disabled. Same
result
Thanks in advance, John

I figured it out. My settings somehow got changed and my "outgoing mail" was
smpt.yahoo.com instead of smtp.
I guess smpt and smtp are not the same. duh!!!
