Outlook Express displays jpeg attachments below the message body.
If you insert pictures in the message body, they will be displayed in and below the body. You can zip the jpegs before attaching so they won't display below the body for the recipient. No settings control the display and it has been that way for some time. I don't know about yahoo and hotmail. -- Ron Sommer "Yaros" wrote in message ... : When I attach some jpeg to a mail it appears automatically in the email : buddy. : Is it depends of some settings or its always so? : Does it also happen with web mails like yahoo.com and hotmail.com? : : Thanks in advance : : Yaros : : |

Hi Yaros,
As Ron points out, this is normal behavior for Outlook Express. It isn't possible to control this behavior for the recipient of a message with a JPEG attachment. A Registry edit can be made to change the display of pictures at the end of a message for messages you receive. The instructions could be sent to a recipient, if appropriate, to make the change for future mailings. 1. Go to Start | Run and type Regedit Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{big long number}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\ (Important) Backup (by exporting to the desktop) the key first. This will allow a mistake to be corrected (by right-clicking and "merging" the (*.reg) file to restore the key as it was). Add a DWORD key called "Automatically Inline Images" (without the quotes). Add the value you want: 0 (disable preview of the message attachment altogether) 1 (enable preview of the message attachment altogether) 2. Go to Tools | Options | Read -- and check the appropriate box. -- Tip Courtesy of: Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, IE/OE -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "Yaros" wrote in message ...
