Default Change widow and orphan settings?

I use Word 03/XP. The widow/orphan control prevents individual lines in
a paragraph from appearing at the beginning of a page. Can I change
this to cover more than one line?

No, but you can use "Keep lines together" to keep an entire paragraph
intact.
