Default How do I remove a microsoft notification icon from the notificatio

An icon popped up on my lower right corner of the screen, following
installation of "Office". It reads: "Microsoft office customer improvement
program". It prompts you to join this microsoft program but doesn't provide
anyway to eliminate it fron the notification area if you so desire (right
click doesn't work). How do I get rid of it?
Thank you.

Start Word or Excel, click on Help | Customer Feedback Options,
and turn off the option for Customer Experience Improvement
Program. If that doesn't work, then modify the relevant Windows
registry key as described in
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...402431033.aspx .

Thanks for the suggestions but neither worked: Turning off the option in Word
didn't remove it and the registry value mentioned was already set to "0"... I
am stumped! Should I reboot the machine?

Yes, you have to reboot to make the registry change take effect.
