Default Home & Office vs. Professional versions

I just bought a new Mac computer and I was given Office Mac 2008 Home &
Student version. I am used to the Windows Business version. What are the
differences between the home & business versions, and are they compatible?

Home and Student is for non-commercial use only. Yes, they are compatible -
same programs (differs by version, not function), different licenses.
