Default Nightmare with character spacing!

All of a sudden all my character spacing is almost unreadable. When I type
any word for instance maybe first two letters will be on top of each other
than a half space between next letters. For example the word "example" will
look like this- ex a mp l e, where the e and x are almost superimposed on
each other. Very annoying!! Happens when typing in all search engines,
email. When I post something, it looks like this when I type, but when
posted, looks normal. Same thing with printing, type is off but when printed,
looks normal.
Windows xp, office 2003 & office 2007.
Any ideas why this would happen all of a sudden?
