How do I purge deleted emails
When I try to purge deleted emails in outlook 2003, I get the message "you
must be connected to your server". How do I set up the connection to stay connected for long enough to purge the emails? Currently when I press send and receive, outlook is connected just long enough for these tasks and then hangs up so I cannot purge the emails. Thanks Mark1UK |

How do I purge deleted emails
Using dial-up? Disable the option to disconnect after send/receive or
manually setup the connection again. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more ----- "Mark1UK" wrote in message ... How do I purge deleted emails
Thank you
I have a broadband connection and it still does not purge emails and gives the same error message, when I tick this. I assume it does not apply to broadband. Any more ideas please. You mentioned re-installing the connection. Is that the only option or are there any other settings that I should look at. Thanks once again. Mark "Roady [MVP]" wrote: Using dial-up? Broadband connections can be connected and disconnected in a fashion similar to a dial-up connection. On the Connection tab of the account, choose "Connect using my local area network (LAN)" and see if that helps. -- Brian Tillman |

How do I purge deleted emails
Thank you Brian
I have checked the connection settings and the computer is already set to connect through the LAN. Any other suggestions?
