Default MSOffice 2007 MVL Licence vs. Retail Licence

Hello all,
I work in a company which is lucky enough to be part of the MVL scheme.
I have recently installed 2 copies of MSOffice Standard accross my network
using the software provided by the scheme (From the office suites and
applications disk) and used the MVL licence key for our company to activate
them.

Since then we have purchased 2 boxed copies of MSOffice 2007 Standard -
Retail edition which we were going to use to replace the licence keys used
from the MVL.

I have gone into regedit and attempted to use the new key from the boxed
retail version but it comes up saying its an invalid key.

Is there anything else I could change to get it accept the key? I am
assuming there is a slight difference in the setup of the 2 different
versions which have inprinted the type of installation used and now the
software will only accept a MVL key.

Obviously this will happen. You cannot replace the VL keys without removing
(uninstalling) the complete VL install. Make sure the VL version is uninstalled
along with the Activation Assistant key before installing the Retail version and the
new key

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your response, however I was really hoping you weren't going to
say that! :-(
Is that my only option? I really didn't want to have to go through that
process, as I originally installed it over the network it will mean I have to
ship the disk upto the other location and I didn't want to let it out my site.

Thanks again.

How many locations and installs are you planning to do with the Retail version of
Office. You better read the Eula as to how many installs you can do with them. Why
change your VL version of Office which is the same as the Retail if it is up and
running at all your locations. Help me understand
