What exactly is your problem baby? This is not a place to vent your
anger on someone. Please state your problem briefly using this link:

i think samsung would have a problem on there hands.

When you go shopping anything you buy is covered by a law called

the Sale of Goods Act 1979. This means that when you buy a product

it should be:
as described
fit for purpose
of satisfactory quality.

I think it says it all above product not as described !!!!!!!!

Default microsoft office activation assistant for netbooks

Hello I`m from turkey, my friend bought me a samsung n130 netbook in november
from united states. I also have the icon of 1 year prepaid online for
microsoft office on my desktop but when I click it; it only gives me an
option to download the 60 day trial or to buy the full version. I tried the
product key under my computer and it says its a wrong product key. I used all
my 25 times of office and now I need to do a homework and I cannot do
anything. Im really dissappointed by this issue, I would really appreciate if
someone tells me what to do.

Thanks,
Kaan Boranalp.

I've just taken delivery of a Samsung N140 Netbook with Windows 7 and have exactly the same problem. MS Office is preinstalled together with a desktop icon labelled 'Microsoft Office 1-year Prepaid - Online' This runs "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Activation Assistant for Netbooks\" which hitshttps://trial.trymicrosoftoffice.com/netbook/connect.aspxgiving the following error: HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration.
Internet Information Services (IIS).
Have logged a service request with Samsung and will post back with an update.

Did you get anywhere with Samsung?

I can't tell where this problem extends to. It is the same on my N140
bought 2 weeks ago from Amazon in the UK. The Amazon remedy seems to
go no further than sending the netbook back for a refund, which I
don't want to do as other software is now installed and personalised.

I get the impression that this problem also applies to the USA?

I don't know how to deal with it, except through Samsung, as they must
be responsible for what they have loaded on to their product before
shipping.

If anyone cracks the problem, please post here.

Had the same problem in January. Apparently Samsumg wash their hands of the problem - MS said they would give Samsung notebook buyers a 1 year deal and decided to pull the plug on it and only give buyers 6 weeks - even though it says 1 year. I've never trusted MS and now I dislike them even more. It's a scam. We've all been conned - yet again. I am just reiterating here what others have said on another forum. Apparently there are many angry people out there. It's called false advertising.

this is very interesting. I bought the Samsung for my fiancee and we have the same problem with the Office. As things stand I think my next machine is a Mac! And i'm definitely switching to OpenOffice. Cheerio MS.
