Default OE won's send email, insufficient memory

Suddenly OE will not send email but gives a "not enough memory" message.
My
sent mail folder is suddenly empty as well. Also, if I try to move a
message
into the now empty sent malil folder I get the same message. Other logon
IDs
on the same computer can still send and receive properly. I am using one
of
those as a workaround but would like my main userID to work again.

System restore did nothing to improve the situation. I cleared inbox and
outbox folders, discarded several GB of other files and defragmented with
no
effect as well.

XP Home, SP3, 12GB free on an 80GB hard drive. Message text: "an
attempt
to allocate memory failed. The system is out of memory. 0x8008000E."

Thanks
BlueMagoo
