Formula to multiply values from drop down boxes in table.
I have a table with drop down boxes in 2 cells. I want to put a formula in a
third cell to multiply the 2 values. If I just enter 2 numbers, the formula works. If I select from the drop down boxes, it doesn't. Also, how can I get the third cell to update automatically, without hitting F9. Thanks |

Formula to multiply values from drop down boxes in table.
Did you remember to turn on "Calculate on exit" in the Drop-Down Form Field
Options dialog box for each of the drop-down fields? If your drop-down fields are named DropDown1 and DropDown2, you could insert a field (not a form field) with the following code in the cell where you want to display the product of the two drop-down fields: { ={REF DropDown1}*{REF DropDown2}} Note that all the field braces must be inserted using Ctrl+F9. The product field will update when you "exit" one of the drop-down fields by clicking on or tabbing to the next form field. -- Regards Lene Fredborg DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "ComputerLady" wrote: I have a table with drop down boxes in 2 cells.
