Default Outlook Express Problem

Recently, I upgraded to IE 8 and since then, when I click on an email address
on the Internet, a window pops up and asks me to Choose Profile and it only
gives one option “Outlook”. I want and use Outlook Express. Can someone help
me. Thank you,

Default Outlook Express Problem

George

A post by Bruce Hagen yesterday could well apply to your situation.

It is the Outlook updates that cause this.

Make OE the default e-mail client:
http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx

If you have MS Outlook installed, also see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13

Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program Access and Defaults |
Custom + Down Arrow | Select the radio button for Outlook Express.

Default Outlook Express Problem

I suspect that a recently-installed Outlook (2003?) Update was the culprit
here [1], not IE8.

1. See http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx; then see...

2a. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx and/or...

2b. Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program
Access and Defaults | Click on the downward-pointing arrows to the right of
the configuration that's already checked | Email: Select "Outlook Express"
here (not "Use my current...").

If still no joy, see:
