Default Which font is used when replying

When creating a new email message, the default font will be the one defined
in the options, but when replying to an email which may come from different
email clients (OE, Outlook, Eudora, webmail etc.), will the default font
still be used? Or will it use the font used by the original sender? If so,
what happen if you don't have that particular font on your PC?

Please help.

For text messages, the font is what you want to use. Text messages are sent
without specifying a font.

Replying to a html message will use the font that you choose.

Hello,

If the reply was sent in plain text format, then the default font used will
be the one you specified. On the receiver side, it will shown using their
default font as well.

But if the e-mail is in Rich Text format, the default font used depends on
the HTML code of the e-mail as some e-mails come with stylesheets that force
a different default font.

A stylesheet would have to be attached. There may be a style section, but
it will not affect the reply font.

The whole company wants to standardize on one signle font (Times New Roman)
for all email replies. So oftentimes, we have to change the font manually
when replying, We just want to get rid of this tedious job.

Hope you can help.

Hello,

Styles can be defined within the style type="text/css" /style tag. No
external stylesheet is needed this way.

Assuming OE is configured to reply to HTML messages in the same format
(i.e., HTML), the font, etc., settings are controlled via OE Tools | Options
| Compose | Compose font | Mail | Font Settings.

You should be able to promulgate this to all machines via a GPO.

Note that a reply to a Plain Text message will also be in Plain Text by
default.
