Is there a way to change the Word 2003 Desktop icon?

Under properties, advance there is no way to use a differect icon.

I don't know why MS invented these change-proof shortcuts -- they're a pain,
aren't they?

To create a standard shortcut, use Windows Explorer to go to the WinWord.exe
file (probably in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11). Right-click
it and select Send To Desktop. The resulting icon has the Properties
dialog you want.
