Default Tri fold document/ printing on both sides tri fold?

I took the suggestion from a previous post and am able to set a document in
8.5 by 14 into 3 by the arrange and layout guide. How can I have the
document allow me to have both sides different without setting up to
separate documents?
I see soemthing in the layout guide that says "create two master pages with
mirrored guides, but in the lower left hand corner, I just see one page?
My pringer is set for double sided printing if that makes a difference?
thanks
