how do I fix slow running office outlook 2003
Outlook 2003, running on Vista Home premium is slow to start, often giving
messege "Outlook not responding" and outlook freezes for several minutes and also error messege " Microsoft Office Outlook is trying to retrive data from the exchange server" on the system tray icon. I have tried outlook's detect and repair several times but it did not solve the problem. Can any one help me to correct this. |

Do you have Cached Exchange Mode enabled?
Are you making a connection to Exchange via VPN or via RPC over HTTP? Does it work better when starting Outlook in Safe Mode? Start- type; outlook.exe /safe If so, it's very likely that the slowness is caused by an add-in that you have installed. Disabled them all and enable them one by one to find the culprit. Hi Roady, Thanks for your reply. I beleive I am using RPC over HTTP.
Staring outlook in safe mode does not solve this problem. Please reply "Roady [MVP]" wrote: Do you have Cached Exchange Mode enabled?
