Default problems updating trial version to licensed

Vista Ultimate SP1
Office 2007 Home & Student Edition SP2

I had the trial version installed but it expired.

I bought a license from Digital River.

I uninstalled and re-installed Office and entered the the license key when
prompted, then I installed SP2. Everything went smoothly.

But when I double-click my .doc file , it never appears.

I create a new doc , but the scroll bars don't work ( neither drag-drop nor
the arrows ).

Right-click menus do not appear.

Everything seems to be extremely slow.

It seems my Office is still crippled..

Also : every time I close Word , I get a pop-up which says :

"Microsoft Office Word has stopped working. Windows is checking for a
solution to the problem ..."

It then asks me if I wish to debug ...

Also : double-clicking .doc files does not open them ... but if Word is
already open , I can open doc files.

You uninstalled the trial, together with activation assistant, then
rebooted, yes?
Installed the digital river download, and ran the setup file, entered the
key and activated, yes?
(And assuming you havent ordered the disks, saved a copy of that instalation
file and the key, externally)

I uninstalled the trial , yes , but if I was supposed to separately
uninstall the Activation Assistant , I did not.

Yes , I have saved the key and a copy of the installation , also I have the
locker , so theoretically I could always retrieve them ( although when I go
to the page the "Download" link is not present ) .

Here is my question : is the installation package different for the trial
and the licensed copy ? I thought they were the same.

Uninstall any Activation assistant & reboot.
The version you purchased may differ from the trial that was preinstalled
If you installed from the digital river purchased installation file, then
why it doesnt appear in Add/Remove is, I'm afraid, beyond me
Maybe you need to contact either Digital River, or MS who provide free
support for instalation issues
